Any help on this issue....i need this set up for my bike. HELP???????????????
false. it makes way more horsepower a little more torque than say a tornado intake with a good 2-1 pipe and dyno tuned PC3. what it does is shift the torque curve up some, still making more torque than before but at slightly higher rpm and the curves are nice and straight no dips. the noise is not noticeable esp if you already have an exhaust mod. no FI lights so long as everything is left connected, just wire tied to the frame since the ugly box is not there to hang them off of. be careful around the front cylinders Throttle body when putting the filter on it because it is easy to get the base of the filter up against the linkage for the SDTV that Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve. the extra butterfly up top that the ECU controls uses that linkage to open/close the valve via stepper motor and if you jam the linkage you will get an FI light and possibly burn up the stepper motor and they are not cheap. the other mod done in conjunction is to ditch the secondary "flies". your choice, some like them in, some out but no difference in out and out hp, maybe a wee bit more mid range but either way it will need completely different dyno tuned maps for "in" or "out". :bigthumbsup:If I remember correctly, removing the air box makes the intake really loud, causes a FI light and loses HP and TQ. With lots of dyno tuning, you can get it to makes 4-5 hp more but less TQ. Not a good mod for a cruiser IMHO.
pm sent. :bigthumbsup:Steve thanks for all of the info but i think that this is going to get really complicated. I thought that i maybe would be able to fabricate something that would allow me to hook up a filter straight to the throttle bodies. I will have to look alot more into this before i make a decision. Do you have any pics of your mod. The thread showed the steps but was unclear
