As it says, is it possible and has anyone attempted/succeed this modification?

Yes it's doable .. you will need a few things such as the m109 tach , a barons tach adapter for a C109 . ( mine is done with resistors and diode and such ,trust me just buy the adapter ) and some means to physically attach the unit onto the bike . Another member posted up a vidio on YouTube a while back explaining what was involved . I belive his screen name was weams same name listed o you tube as I recall.

2 bills sounds a bit high . But I have not seem a full unit up for sale in a while . I always liked having a tach on anything I run . ( car , truck , boat or bike )there is no reason something with a manual shift should not have one . The nice thing about the M tach it matches with the illumination . And if you mount it right it looks Close enough to factory that people would not know difrent if they don't k ow the bike .. the digital tach does have a misplaced look with the analog speedo . But even the M has to deal with that
