It's available for the M109R on Cobra's site as of this morning. I hope Phat Performance Parts gets theirs soon. :a18: Andre was right on the money. Hope they are as good as what they say.

There are a few people that have pre-paid for one. :hot: :hot: :hot: :hot:
I had mine pre-paid and purchased together with the "Arlen Ness Big Suckers", which have not been installed as of yet, since I was waiting for the new fuel controller. I will have it installed by a friend of mine (Suzuki motorcycle mechanic) and then tested. I will keep you posted. Since my bike is stock otherwise, I will have no real comparison against other products than compared with the stock configuration. Guess, I am one of the fools to go first. (By the way, I just bought my M109R2 as a 2008 left over with zero miles from a dealer and I enjoy thoroughly reading all the great input from all of you-albeit it is very expensive-since I already dropped $2,500 on cosmetic upgrades etc) Holger

Maybe we should ask Dan if DLP would do a group buy on these. I think a lot of people will be wanting one.
Ryno, this time make sure you say something to the C guys for the group buy because the Cobra's this time are one and the same.

That price is pretty steep....let's see how well it works.
Maybe the price will come down after its been out for a few months and reaches all the resellers.

It is not if you think about a PC3 and then paying to have a custom tune done. No to mention if you change anything on the bike, you would need to get another tune to dial it in again. With this new model they are claiming that it will adjust to a vast array of mods.

Who ever gets one make sure you do a dyno evaluation.

My guys and I are trying to rationalize how this thing could possibly work without O2 sensors. We've read about it just like the rest of you. And we understand the "theory" we're just too far away from being a genius to figure it out. My question is, based on what you've read and your own mechanical knowledge, if you had to place money on it working like it should, would you?? (Which is what you are doing pre-ordering I suppose). Seems like everyone's waiting on everyone else. If it were a "buy it now or never" situation, no waiting on reviews, would you buy it?? On a scale of one to ten (10 being most confident), how confident are you that it will do what it says???

I wanted one when I put my sideburner on but I wasn't about to wait for it so I got the fi2000. Now I'll wait for reviews.

Hate to burst your bubble folks, but Cobra was showing the Harley PowR pro as being released a while ago. Phat performance still has them listed as 'pre-order'. So either Phat is dragging their heels, or we will still be waiting weeks....mid to late summer.

I think it is the fact that it acts like the pc-v with auto tune, with no need for the O2 sensors to be added to the exhaust. Any mod added will be factored in when the Cobra is reaching for the best performance...up to 80 times per second.

So THEY say...

This is from Cobra's site, not my explanation. I don't know enough about this to know if it will work as stated or not. However this should help explain.

"PowrPro uses electronic control technology that calculates the bike's rate of acceleration by reading crankshaft rotation at the flywheel and changes in load just as a dynamometer measures acceleration at the rear wheel.

That allows PowrPro to measure and adjust fuel flow during acceleration to the injectors in microseconds for super-fast fuel tuning--continuously and automatically! Net result: precise EFI tuning now happens in the real world in real time, nonstop--at up to 80 times per second."

someone buy me one and pay for the dyno and i'll gladly take my bike...and do a fi2000 run and then the new cobra run and compare the two and post both dynos which would of been conducted by the same tec/dyno/day/temp and all the other stuff .......

and I'll give my fi2000 away to a lucky winner lol:#1:

I'm expecting the most as well.
That being said I know a custom map on a PCIII is likely going to deliver a few more horses.
Assuming the tuner has the machine set up well, AND knows what he's doing. A lot of big if's, that aren't usually done well. That's why I'm keen on this unit.

I don't understand why everyone is so worried about A/F ratios. They mean nothing, as no two engines need the exact same one to make the most power or to get the best fuel mileage. And you have to pick one over the other with most if not all of them, unless you also have a way of measuring load on the engine.

You guys that have dyno tuned very much know that a 13-7 A/F ratio will get you good mileage but won't get you good power. You need something in the 12.5-1 ratio to do that. If you dyno tune strictly for A/F ratio you're giving up something somewhere, which is why you don't want a unit that controls it to just one static A/F ratio. It's good to see a nice smooth A/F ratio line, but if it's at the wrong ratio for your engine you're losing the power you could potentially be getting.

If this thing truly looks at crankshaft acceleration or deflection and tunes it to get the most power, it would be the best thing out there. There would be no guessing as to what A/F ratio to tune it for, as it would just adjust fuel to whatever is needed for the most power. My concern is how it then compensates for cruise conditions, where max power isn't the best for max mileage. If it constantly tunes for max power then it can't run near the 13.7 to 14-1 A/F ratio you want for best mileage.

Am I missing something?

I don't understand why everyone is so worried about A/F ratios.
Because without seeing how and if the unit works, then its worthless. A/F ratio is everything when it comes to an auto tuner. Only way to find out for sure is getting it on a dyno.
