Good find LTT, you just saved him a FORTUNE! I hate the stealers.Secondary should be part of the main throttle bodies.. here

what is your bike doing? the secondary throttle valve is just a butterfly ( throtlle plate) and you can not service it so you have to replace your whole throttle boddy as for the harness maybe you have to update for the new throttle body (differant plug ins)Dealer says I need a Secondary Throttle Valve= $1200 and a new wiring harness =$670. I think he means the STVA... If that is the case, I had a friend replace his, and it ended up being a malfunction in the SET! He still has stock pipes, I bet his SET cables need adjusted, and the codes cleared... It has worked 4 out of 4 tmes so far when dealer stated STVA!what is your bike doing? the secondary throttle valve is just a butterfly ( throtlle plate) and you can not service it so you have to replace your whole throttle boddy as for the harness maybe you have to update for the new throttle body (differant plug ins)

Totally runs like someone has it by the throat. Won't maintain a steady idle. And forget reving over 2500 rpms. Sometimes it runs. Sometimes it doesn't.Let me guess... won't rev over like 3000 RPM's, and feels like it is limping. Right? I may have your fix... FREE!!!!

No problem! Basically, his bike is in limp mode. Sometimes it throws a FI light, sometimes it doesn't. If he clears the code, and adjusts, or removes SET valve, and disables it on the ECU, I'm almost positive it will go right back to normal.Got it thanks big guy!! :2cool:

And this is the friend I was referring to! Hi Tony!:agree:
Had a personal experience with the same symptoms. The code indicated a bad STVA but dealer adjusted the SET cables and cleared the codes from the ECU which were putting the bike in a self protection "Limp" mode.
350 miles later and all seems well.....new plugs didn't hurt either![]()
:agree:THERE IS A SUCKER BORN EVERY MINUTE!!! But not when you have fellow M109 riders on your side!:-*Man them dealers are in business to make money.![]()
