Dealer says I need a Secondary Throttle Valve= $1200 and a new wiring harness =$670. WTF is a Secondary Throttle Valve and where can I get one cheaper than through Suzdooky?
what is your bike doing? the secondary throttle valve is just a butterfly ( throtlle plate) and you can not service it so you have to replace your whole throttle boddy as for the harness maybe you have to update for the new throttle body (differant plug ins)

I think he means the STVA... If that is the case, I had a friend replace his, and it ended up being a malfunction in the SET! He still has stock pipes, I bet his SET cables need adjusted, and the codes cleared... It has worked 4 out of 4 tmes so far when dealer stated STVA!

Got it thanks big guy!! :2cool:
No problem! Basically, his bike is in limp mode. Sometimes it throws a FI light, sometimes it doesn't. If he clears the code, and adjusts, or removes SET valve, and disables it on the ECU, I'm almost positive it will go right back to normal.

Total cost......$0 and 2 Miller Lite's!

:agree:

Had a personal experience with the same symptoms. The code indicated a bad STVA but dealer adjusted the SET cables and cleared the codes from the ECU which were putting the bike in a self protection "Limp" mode.
350 miles later and all seems well.....new plugs didn't hurt either :D
