I don't mind a few guys who know what they're doing and are used to riding together but over 6 or so, and I'm usually out of there.

Just when you think there's no action at the back of the pack... There's more action there than Debbie-Does-Dallas Volumes 1-30. Too bad :super:-Man had the day off...

HOLY $&%#
Some people there were hurt bad you know it. Very sad.
The one time I road in a group there were 3 of us total and I specifically took the rear. I dont trust that others wont hit me.
When snowmobiling (not a direct correlation but close) I had ridden in many different sized groups. The safest, fastest, and most fun is 4.
2 groups of 2 buddies really. I would not mind that on the road, but I would certainly be vary careful till I really had alot of miles with the others around me before I ever got comfortable.

I just cant believe they kept on crashing and crashing!

It looks like they were just riding in a clutter....no control ...no staggering , nothing of any order.

Horrible !

I think what happened was they came over the top of a bridge and all of a sudden they were all stopped. :yikes:

I probably shouldn't have looked at that series of photos with my wife sitting right next to me in the midst of trying to get a few folks together for a ride!

That was quite the debacle, wasn't it.

I have ridden in small groups and large groups 150 bikes + and have never seen anything like those pictures happen. I think those Swedes were all in Denmark before the pictures were taken and had breakfast at those particular coffee shops.

Amazing.....I really wonder how something like that could happen! I've ridden in big groups, but its always been with police escorts. I think that can help avoid something like this happening. All I know is that is when I ride I'm always driving completely defensive....always scanning the road in front of me, left to right, behind me....always, always scanning!!

There are some advantages to riding with friends, but everyone should understand spacing, staggering, hand signals, and the lead bike and the drag bike need to help facilitate safety.

This might interest some. there are other good articles on group riding if you're interested. i still prefer small groups.
