Here is a quick and dirty photochopped m109r with a traditional headlight. Borrowed from the c90.

I personally love the way it looks now ,i wouldn't mess with it ,it sets it apart from all the other cruisers. My 2 cents.

Actually the headlight is too high. This may be a better representation.

I have thought about it but in real life the risers are so big (tall) that it ends up looking funky (in my opinion). Still might try it though.

The headlight on the M109 is awesome and deffently an eye catcher. If I ever changed it out it would have to be more unique then the original. My 3 cents

i don't plan on changing it, as i really like it as is. only mod i've thought about on it is putting a small woofer (not really visible) in the back of it for a small speaker system. i don't care much for headphones while riding.

There's an awful lot of stuff besides headlight hiding behind that fairing. It won't be a simple take one off and put the other on. In some ways, the 109 headlight cowl is like the VTX 1800 headlight, it captures the bike's character.
I'll leave that area alone, for now anyway.

I think swapping out the headlight makes it look common.

Thats a big reason I bought the bike! It is like nothing else out there! I wanted something unique and different from everyone else! It sets this bike apart from anything on the market! If I changed the headlight I'd just be fitting in with all the other cruisers! I'm leaving that alone! 8)

I wanted something unique on my vs800, something that set me apart from all the other vs800 riders out there as well.

So I ditched the 3.2 gallon tank and bought a custom 6 gallon tank for it and had a custom paint job done. It's definitely "me" now. :D

I didn't like the light on the m109 originally, I'm not sure if it could grow on me or not. Heck for that matter, I'm not even sure I can ride one easily enough.
My 800 = 443 dry weight, the m109 is ~697 right? Big difference to a little dude. I got a lotta weight, but it's me, not the bike. ::)

I am only 5'8" and although I currently weigh about 218, I'm in the process of dropping that back to where I need to be (160-165) for my heigh/health. I've got a short inseam as well (~29"). Anybody of you m109 riders short like me? Oh...and I'm a wuss. :joke: Don't work out, never did, and my 3 inch pythons will attest to it.
