Hi guys,

You may be able to help me a bit:

Shortly I will buy a M1800R and am looking for an aftermarket exhaust. I once had the Roadhouse Slip On's on my first Suzi but now I would like to change a bit. I really like the 2-1 systems but in Germany I am afraid that they would be too loud and as far as I know there are no baffles available. That is why I might go with another stly:
- cobra speedster longs (I am thinking about painting them black as in one video on YouTube)
- cobra dragsters but I guess they are too loud
- also like the Roadhouse lightning duals in black but ther are no feedbacks in the web......don't know anything about the sound
- the HardKrome Vortaxx are on sale and I do like the black ones but same problem as for the Roadhouse...no info of someone who can share his experience....

Do you have other suggestions for me ?

I do like a deep and throaty sound but should not be too loud.

Thanks to everyone:bigthumbsup:

The cannon pipe is too short for my taste.

The road burner is loud ? I prefer this one as it is longer than the cannon. Is it available in black ?

Roadhouse has gone out of business so any pipe they made is probably not going to be an option.
DLP still advertises them, so just because the business is gone, does not mean there is not overstock out there rotting in warehouses.
DLP lists the following three.

I prefer the Cobra Tri-Pro though, see pics below.

I love those but am afraid they will be much too loud

Are they as loud as the cobra dragsters or even louder ?
Louder, no baffle at all is what I hear.

The tri-pro in black would also be an option, but I don't like that much the sound on the videos in YouTube etc. It seems not to have a real nice DEEP rumble.....more like a sport bike sound......or am I wrong?
Can you post your experience concerning sound, loud or not etc.? Did you combine with fuel management?

Thx!

Yes I added fuel management with the exhaust. I had run the bike for four years with just intake modifications. When I pulled the stock pipes, they were ghost white inside, right at the heads. So even then it was running EXTREMELY LEAN, not a good thing.

I waited for four years to get a pipe because I DID NOT WANT LOUD. I wanted a 2-into-1 with a mild upsweep, and a mild tone that would not rattle windows or set off car alarms. Cobra was the first to do so, and I am quite happy with it, WOULD NOT TRADE IT FOR ANY OF THE OTHER PIPES OUT THERE, PERIOD!

Its louder than stock, but not deafening, won't upset the neighbors at O'Dark Thirty. Yes when you back off the throttle, it burbles somewhat. Some here do not like it. I do not mind it, and another friend who rides a 9, who has ridden behind me a few times, says it sounds COOL!

Different strokes for different folks.

Cobra Tri-Pro Exhaust

Here's the official video from Cobra for the M109 and the Tri-Pro's.

It's a great looking pipe, but I am looking for a deeper rumble.

It sounds great, but not the sound I'm looking for.
