Most ppl seem to put them in the nacelle of the headlight but I have a m109r2 and was wondering where most of you are putting your ballasts for hid conversion? I was thinking in the took kit holder if it will reach, but not sure if it gets too hot in there.

There used to be a picture of it in an old HID thread. I am not sure where it went. I will see if I can find it. But it gets mounted on the air box under the tank. I know that the A&R kits work that way. I have installed about 4 HID kits on the R2 models myself.

I have an r2 and I installed mine under the Headlight assy. If you remove the headlight assy and turn it upside down, you will see a small valley were the small bulb at the bottom of the light inserts. I rested my ballast across the valley and used double sided tape and small self tapping plastic screws to attach it to the housing. It worked out great. The hardest part is getting all the extra wire concealed neatly without damaging it. You would never know it's there.
