I plan to replace my brake pads (all three sets) this weekend. So, I'm wondering what kind of life expectancy is there for the rotors. I've got about 11000 miles on my 9 and this is the first brake pad change. What should I look for while inspecting the rotors, other than lateral play. When I gave them a brief inspection today they seem nice and smooth with no movement on the outer ring when I pushed on them. Any advise?

there is a tolarance on the thickness of the rotor, not sure what it is exactly. But checking for grooves, high spots and the play in the carriers is preety much it.

The rotors should last quite a while as long as the pads never go metal to metal. I've owned a lot of bikes over my lifetime and have never had to replace any due to wear.
