Time to drain and flush my coolant system. What kind of Antifreeze do you guys use? I've heard that we should avoid automotive coolant with silica additives because they are abrasive and can damage the water pump impeller and coolant system seals??

Is there such thing as "motorcycle antifreeze" or can I just go down to Walmart and buy a jug of Prestone?

The manual states ; use a high quality ethylene glycol base anti-freeze mixed with distilled water. Do not mix an alcohol base anti-freeze and different brands.

Amsoil makes coolant too. It's environmentally safe, lubricates the water pump, protects hoses, and boils at a higher temp. Great for aluminum engines.

I used some from the auto parts store. As long as it is not synthedic(dexcool and now all the other new ones out). Just use a ethylene glycol based one that states it is made for aluminum engines. I think I bought mine at Walmart and it was 50/50 mixed in the bottle. Do yourself a favor and remove the reserve and clean it out really good.
