Hello all. I havent posted much on here but lurk here and there. Well, laid the bike down yesterday. Oncoming idiot turned left in front of me, and well, no where to go. Hit the car on the passenger side front tire, flipped head over heels and laid across the WINDSHIELD with my feet dangling over the drivers side and head at the passenger side. Note the car, and roof.......Had my two week old new RF-1100 and joe rocket coat.....

Other driver ticketed. I called my ins. comp. and they said to call the other guy's first and see what they will do. Well today talking to the guy he was asking about my coat and helmet. The helmet still looks new, no idea how it doesnt have a scratch, but I'd never wear it again, we all know better.

Anyone with advice? same or similar situation?

SO IS THE BIKE TOTALLED??? LOOK AT THE FRAME AND UNDER THE NECK WHERE THE FRAME FLEXED SO MUCH IT POPPED THE PAINT OFF.......

thanks guy's. me still got a headache, and random muscle aches.....i'm 6'2" and about 300lbs. not meant or built for gymnastics to say the least. the padding may have helped.

i'm just not sure what to think about the whole insurance guy's. if they sound like they may be fair then great, but i dont have a warm fuzzy feeling.

the other guy's insurance asked my bank so he could find the payoff. I told him that's not his concern, what I owe is irrelavent.

Anyone do this on their own?

DO NOT GIVE YOUR PAY OFF AMOUNT! TELL THEM TO CONTACT YOUR ATTORNEY! NO JOKE! Sorry for the caps lock. Full replacement value, plus mods, plus gear, plus medical, plus pain and suffering!
:agree:Yup- all they need to know is how much for a new bike, how much in mods and gear, and medical bills.

Glad you seem to be ok- coulda been a disaster.

:agree: You are their client. They should be looking after your interests. Period.

As for the bike....been there, done that. The bike is toast.

definitely think about buy back if they cover what you owe. The parts, motor, etc can be worth $3-$5k easy
First of all, I am glad to hear that you are OK, with the exception of the aches and pains. It could have been much worse. I agree with BlkM109r on this one, as well as with what many of others had to say. Get the most out of this situation and his insurance company. They owe you dearly for his mistake, and your insurance company should be much more supportive of you than what they have been up to this point. Afterall, you were the victim in this matter. That is the one thing that I can't stand about insurance companies...they are quick to take your premiums each month, but you have to go through hell and hot water to get them to support you when needed, which is why we pay insurance in the first place.

If you decide to buy it back from the insurance company, I would be interested in your upper & lower triple trees, if they are not damaged.

Please keep me in mind.

Anyway, good luck, and I hope everything works out fine for you.
