I dont know if this has been asked before but what are your guys opinions on mixing rear and front tires brands and or models.for example:I just got a nail in my oem dunlop rear and have ordered a dunlop elite 3 as a replacement.will I have to replace the front with an elite 3 also or will it be ok with the factory dunlop? thanks for any advice...

Do a search... Somebody on here (Tire Man maybe) posted something about it not being a good idea to mix different tires. Maybe he was referring to speed ratings though. :dontknow:

i have mixed tire brand on my intruder 800 but i kept the same speed rate.

Doesn't seem to cause any problem, i tend to wear out the rear quicker.

I have been mixing tire brands for 30 years.
Never noticed a difference.
That being said, do not mix radials with bias ply.
I doubt spped rating makes a difference unless you plan on exceeding the lowest one.
My 81 CBX has old skinny tires, I have to take what I can get!!!
