I am looking for a wire that is around the area of the battery or ignition switch that is hot ONLY when the key is in the run position. Preferably a single wire i can tap into rather than having to un tape a harness to get to a wire.Needing it to trigger a relay, Anyone know of one?
Thanks!

I would pull the switch off and probe the wires on the back of it to find one. I don't have a wiring schematic with me at the moment to find which one, but it shouldn't be too hard. Or tap into one of the ones feeding the fuse box.

When I need an ignition-on trigger circuit for a relay, I use a taillight circuit or toward the front of the bike, the circuiti to the forward running lights. The relay uses very little current, so you don't need to worry about overloading the circuit.

Since most everyone"de-beavers " their bike it leaves a key on source for the original license plate light. That's what I used for my camera system. I cut the plug off the actual light so the chassis harness wasn't butchered.
