I just got back my quote to fix my bike. I need to know if a stock 2008 LE front rim is the same as common 109 stock rim. The parts manager told me the 2008 LE has a different part on the front rim. Any ideas what could be different?

Check the part #s yourself. You can try ronayers.com, bikebandit.com, and any other site that has online microfiche. They should be the same. I would aks for the entire parts list w/#s.

Just checked a couple of sites---he is full of it. They do run a little over $700 for the rim. There was a part number change on the silver rim, but that could have been less/more powder coating on the rim---that would force a part number change.

Weird, some sites show the same part number. The main site I order from is down, so will let you know on that one.

Part # for an 07...... 54111-48G00-12Z

Part # for an 08 LE....
54111-22H00-12Z

Who knows why!
Funny, the first part # was originally 54111-48G00-YD8. The "YD8" is a factory paint code metallic mystic silver--wheel paint---right off colorite website. The "12Z" is not listed there. My guess is it is now powder coated. Makes sense why it does not show up on the paint site. Oh, the 54111-48G00-12Z number is all that shows up on the sites I checked for now all years. The 54111-22H00-12Z is for the C109R or VLR1800--completely different rim. The LE usually has a Z in the part number--VZR1800Z.

Not trying to threadjack, but I have a front wheel for sale in great condition. Could save that difference from insurance money on some extra mods???

Front and back wheels are the same on all the stock 109, I have worked on all but the 2010, and I would say it the same also....

Yeah I must have clicked on the C109 instead of the M....The 2009's do list a different # which I assume is powder coated as futurR said.
