I've read a lot of negative reviews on the Stebel Nautilus, and am interested in any alternatives that others have tried. Any suggestions?
I am not sure where you read those. There are a TON of people that have them on there 9 and LOVE them. So far mine has not glitched once.

Plus I do not think that you will find an electric horn as loud as the Stebel.

don`t believe the hype!!!!! I`ve had one for 3yrs and it`s been a life saver many times. It`s one of the best investments you can have for your bike.:bigthumbsup:

Same here, I've had mine on for at least 2 years now and it still works fine. I don't recall any of them failing, unless someone mounted them wrong. They have to be near vertical.

Been working great on my M90 for the few months since I installed it. I love how loud it is :)

I know most everyone on this site loves their nautilus, it was on a general internet search that I found negative reviews, primarily involving the durability/longevity of the horn. Also, I have an R2 (no bucket headlight) and an aftermarket exhaust (with the cam under the side cover) so where would I mount it? Any advice?

Usually the failing point on the Stebel horn is not the horn itself but the cheap relay that comes with it. Just toss the cheap relay in the trash can and pick up a replacement relay at your local auto parts store and you will have a loud horn that lasts for years!

Remove the SET and pull the pin in the ECU. now you have room! Or there should be room on the other side behind the side cover as well.

:agree:with the above comments. I have had one that has performed flawlessly for years. You might check with rynosback if you decide to go that way, he was making some harness for a while that would sure make things eaiser on your install.

Regarding your original question though I run one each of these on another bike with a fused and relayed harness. You will hear them.

:agree::agree: The thing about the internet is you will always find bad reviews on things. People rarely take the time to post up a positive experience. I have had mine on for almost 3 years and it is going strong. I feel it is such a great mod, I have it in the Bang for the Buck mod thread. Between this and an HID, you can increase you safety 100 fold for under $200.

I just typed in Stebel Nautilus and browsed for a while... but I'll take the word of most people on this site above a general internet search. So I'm ordering the Stebel. Yesterday's close call was the last straw. Some douche right next to me just started coming into my lane, so I jam on the horn button and ... meeeeep. Heck, I was riding the bike and I barely heard it. Then they guy gives me the finger. There's something about 20 year old kids wearing $200 t shirts and $120 hats while driving $400 cars that usually amuses me... until they almost kill me. There should be a hunting season or people like that. Anyways, thanks for the reviews and info.

I just ordered my Stebel (and some other goodies!:D) I can't wait to use that horn the first time an a$$h0le tries to cut into my lane, especially if they have their windows down.
