I have a 2015 m109r B.O.S.S., I’ve loved these bikes for a few years since I sold my 06’ Hayabusa, back in 2016. I’ve wanted one. I tried to buy one from a few folks I saw on the street here in Anchorage Alaska. But alas no joy. I finally found one for sale at the local cycle shop and bought it. I’m not a fan of the BOSS part I don’t like the blacked out look. I’m a chrome guy, I like shiny and I’m going to do my nine the way I Iike, I’ll spend the money and do it my way. theres no one here in Anchorage that chrome plates things so I’m sending my parts out to get chromed. Any suggestions on vendors would be nice. $$$ is an issue, but I still wanna do it. I’m removing the parts to send to plating and I’ve come to the stator housing and it looks like a bear. Any advice before I crack this thing open would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advice.

If you have a manual it will guide you on removing the housing. Be very careful, there is a powerful magnet in there that can really smash your fingers if you get them between it and something steel. I don't know of anyone chroming anymore, the old ones I had bookmarked are no longer in business.

How soon are you thinking of sending parts out?

I'm in the UK so can't recommend a particular chromer but very few, if any, chromers will guarantee aluminium chroming so choose carefully.
I've had my stator cover rechromed twice first time only lasted 12 months if you can find good second hand ones it may be cheaper.
On the stator cover, yes the magnet is extremely strong so when refitting I used 3 or 4 long 6mm screws (as long as you can get) cut the heads off and screw into the crankcase where the locating dowels are and slide the cover over them because the last couple of inches you won't hold it.
