Spanner Wrench Update

UPS truck arrived this a.m. and low and behold the driver hands me a nice padded package containing 1 ea. spanner wrench. Nine days after visiting the dealer for the 600 mile service and having the service manager informing me they had contacted Suzuki and the wrench would be mailed to my home address. Wow! This guy was a man of his word:):):)

About the wrench! It's the same quality as the rest of the tools in the kit. Some one mentioned in a post that Suzuki didn't include the spanner in the kit because it was too large. Bull S--t......the wrench is 5 and 7/8 inches long and flat about 3/16's thick. I ran down to the garage, pulled the seat and placed the wrench in the cheap plastic tool kit and it fit with no problems. When compared to other tools in the kit it's the same length as the combination screw driver. The part number in the spanner package was 09822-00003.

Had this item been very expensive I could have understood if Suzuki didn't want to furnish one.....Good God if the wrench is worth $1.50 I'd be surprised.

Hope others have success in getting a free wrench!

If you paid $30.00 you got ripped.....check you owners manual and see if the section regarding suspension adjustments (page 3-19) states "Twist the spring tension ring with the adjuster provided in the tool kit"......although it doesn't specifically say spanner wrench the only other tools in that kit are a reversible screw driver, two open end wrenches, pliers and a allen wrench which in my mind are not a "adjuster" for a shock spring. I'd bitch like hell to the dealer.
just call suzuki and they will sent you 1 for free
I just received my in the mail today. Matt is the man at Suzuki. It is also not high quality looking like the other tools. But who cares, as long as it works.

Yes, I got the full size wrench which is actually 2 wrenches (one on each end). The credit showed up on my credit card today :D.

Glad to hear you got a credit. Someone else mentioned they also received a long wrench with a spanner head on both sides.....they are cutting it in half.....some received a single head spanner with long handle and are cutting them down to fit under the bike and tool kit. From the sounds of things Suzuki is mailing out whatever they can get their hands regarding the wrench!
I bet the full sized one is the $$40 dollar spanner wrench...

Well, looks like $30-$40 will solve that problem. It looks like they did fixed that "mis-print" really fast.
called Suzuki today and the guy said he would get one in the mail. He said that there was a misprint in the owners manual.
Wish Suzuki would just sack up, not give us the "misprint" excuse and make it right!
I called today...and Sherry said they expect more in about a week...and that 1 will automatically be sent to my home.
She tod me of the misprint as well.
I called today, and apparently, they are aware and did not even ask me any questions except for my VIN #.

I should have mine in about a month.

Sweet!!!!
called Suzuki today and told them i did not get a wrench when i purchased my bike. asked my name address and vin# told me he send one out to me.
Folks:

You have to give Suzuki some credit for making good on the spanner wrench.....looks like a majority who are calling are having a wrench mailed to their home address :) :) :) :).....even though there was a snafu with the owners manual, mis-print etc. Suzuki stepped to the plate when confronted with the problem!
I would agree that they are stepping up. But we have bought there new leader bike. I'm sure they want us to be happy. Word of mouth is the best advertisement you can get. And this is a cheep way of doing it.
Got mine today, ups, about 9 business days after the call.
I don't think I even got the tool kit with my bike, the dealer is looking in to it as I type.
