Where are you located?? and can you take a few pics of how you mounted them? I have the rifle solo and lowers and I swear by them.

The shield is to sraight up, lay it back and leave a little more gap at the bottom like JD's. You want airflow up the backside of the shield to control turbulence, and direct the air off the top of the shield so it throws it up over your head. Otherwise it trys to come aound the sides and sucks back in on you. Same with the lowers, you want them to sweep back a little so that it doesn't throw the air straight out to the side. It creats too much low pressure behind them that just sucks the air back in.

how far back should i tilt everything?? how will i know if its too much??
To where it feels best for you. It's somewhat subjective based on your comfort and the best you can get from it. Look at JDs for an idea as to where to start. Just play with it till you get it the best you can for you.

X2 on what Pegasus said. Mine it pretty much on the same angle as my forks. The bottom of the windshield is about 2 inches from the top of the lowers, and the top of the windshield curves back enough to let the wind roll off, but not blow in my face. Yours looks like it's almost straight up and down.

Same Angle as the Forks

Mine is at the same angle as the forks and it's behind the light nacelle. The Lowers are rotated back more then yours, here is how to do that.
First rotate the front wheel to either lock then adjust the lower on that side so the bracket does not hit the radiator shroud, about 1/2 inch clearance. Then do the same with the other side. From what I can see of your picture your lower clamps are the reverse of mine.

Here's the way I had mine mounted on your bike. It was the only way I could see it looking good on the bike. It worked really well. No turbulence at all. It looks really weird when they are mounted so they match the angle of the forks.

It's only a soloshield , don't be afraid to make it into
what you want...
here are some pictures I have found here on the site ,
not my bike , but I did the same to mine ,after putting 2inch risers
the handlebars were much farther back ,and it was impossible to
get the solo at the same angle as the forks without doing this ,
after I did it I liked my solo even more , not as big , and still
deflects the air over my head , just took a rule ,drew a line straight
in line with existing holes , drill one hole higher , install 2 shield' bolts ,
just to find where to drill second hole , don't want to turn this into
a swiss cheese , I didn't put anything in the old holes because I
don't have anything good looking like the chrome pins in these
pictures here .

should the lowers be mostly flat like a wall or should they be angled back almost touching the bike? should i put them higher up on the forks or lower??
Like I said it's subjective. Just play with it. adjust it ride it, adjust it somemore, ride it somemore, till you get it they way you like it.
