well, I just drilled out 8 holes in each end baffle and called it a day. It sounds great to me. I was wondering if I could get away with putting the air intakes on that have cones with the stock exhaust with just holes on the end cap and not have to tune it???

Let me know what you guys think!

You should be fine like that. I'm pretty sure I ran mine that way for a while, and mine had the baffles drilled out. The cats probably create as much flow restriction as the muffler does.

Rode it today, felt good and sounded good! Only at 380 miles so still babying it and trying to get to the 600 so I can fly LOL!

I bought it in Las Vegas with 0 miles on it and did have to get it going on the way home to Laughlin. It was all good though. I got too cold as it was 35 degrees in searchlight which is abnormally cold out here and had my buddy tow it home. But I have at highest only had it to 4000 rpm i believe. But I did have it in 5th doing a 100 the first ride home. But I bet I seated the rings pretty good!

They're already run in on a dyno to red line in every gear at the factory. ''Break in'' is to allow inexperienced riders to to get used to the bike. Babying a new motor does little. After your first oil change , ride it how you like.
thank you, I thought it would be ok. This is my second m109r, I didnt know as much about the biike last time.

It's funny to me how there are so many views on engine break-in. Yes I know the manufacturer has their rules and thoughts, mine however are different especially under warranty!
The 2019 9 I just totaled was broke in as a proper warranty would require. I think the trip from the stealership was 53miles ( mostly I295&I95). If I did bounce it off the rev-limiter at least a dozen times I'd be surprised!
+1 on ZOOM, those 8 holes didn't change air flow much. I wouldn't debaffel it and run the intake without a tune. Definitely enjoy your new Beast!

Sorry to hear about your 9. I am waiting till i grt my power commander 6 and then installing the intake and then Im tuning it on a dyno at cycle tech in las vegas.
Have you considered an ECU flash, instead? It has the added benefit of removing the top speed limiter in 5th, eliminating fuel chop, eliminating the low gear timing retard, etc.
@Bering_C_Sparky does a ton of these.

I personally don’t worry too much about warranties. Id rather do the work myself anyway. They wont know if you did a flash but they will see a piggyback fuel controller easily. Do you know how many bikes are broken in at the the track!? Lol. I don't but from what I personally see- a ton! So do not get too worried about what you are doing during the break in period. You have already been good to it.

Yeah, It was offered the day I bought it. The bike brand new comes with a 1 year warranty, they said for 2500 I could add 4 more with no deductible. I end up getting it for 2000 so its a total of 5 years and they tow it there and back for free. Its a good deal!!! I got the last one of that color that was out in las vegas.
