I was giving my 109 a good clean job the other day and when i was polishing my pipes I happened to look underneath them. Much to my suprise (and dismay) I saw some pretty severe scrapes on both of them! I dont drive the aggressivly I hardly ever scrape my peps. These scrapes had surface rust on them so they must have been there a while so I was wondring where they could have come from. Could they have been there since I bought the bike and just never noticed it? I know there is no way to prove that one way or the other, still it was really a bit of a let down.

Anyone else had that happen to there's and how hard is it to srape those pipes?

how could there be a scratch on the bottom of the top pipe? you'd have the crush the bottom one before the top one could get scratched. had to be done before you got the bike and it'd have to be pretty wicked to get through the chrome and rust.

I think he's talking about where they both run in front of the engine cover near the right peg. Ask SledZep and a couple others. They have a little road rash there :doorag:
Edited because I found a better pic... hope you don't mind, spete-o :D
