After having trouble with 109 I took bike to dealer to get fixed it had been sputtering and not reving over 3500rpm.The bike also quit leaving me stranded the other day.It seems that after an hour or so of hard riding the bike just wont run.The dealer puttered around a bit and said nothing is wrong with bike I am just riding it to hard and fast.I can't believe they are saying this. This bike is supposed to be king of cruisers not the clown of cruisers. Please help where do I go now for help.

You need to bypass the stealer and call Suzuki. It'll be a cold day in hell before this bike ever wears the moniker "clown of cruisers". ::)

WTF.....GO TO ANOTHER STEALER IF POSSIBLE. There lots of folk on these bikes and we know that they are not all out obeying the :cop:. I had a similar problem with my first 109. It was overheating.

Sounds to me like a throttle overide control is acting up,the tps should be hooked directly to your carb bodies, maybe the cable that activates it is to loose, this has happened before on stuff i have,it may be more deep rooted, but than again it could be a simple adjustment of a cable, and yes go seek out another dealer...

Man that is a real freakin' shame. I hope you get to the bottom of it and tell us the outcome.Nothin' worse than getting a lemon. My son bought a brand new Q 45 in '05,that thing was a rocket, paid $ 55K and was black.BUT... it was a lemon, back to the dealer every week. And this car was rated the highest by JD Powers in '05. After about 6 months he said screw it, took the hit and dumped it.It happens in all mass produced products, just need a better system for recourse. Good luck gval.

Identical hing happen to me today! I live in Southern California (was pretty hot to day 90's) - I pulled up to a stop light and the bike was idleling erratically RPM would jump between 500 ad 1500 RPM and than the bike died. I freaked! pushed the starter and the bikes came to live again - to get home, at every Stop light I rev'd it intermittently to keep it alive and get me home.
Made it home OK - After the bike cooled in the garage I started it and it idled smoothly at 1000 RPM - I believe this baby is over heating and a sensor is telling the CPU to shut the bike down.

Incidentally, I did not get on it since I only have 300 miles on it -

I need to recreate the problem and than bring it in for repair - only bike that ever left me stranded was a KAW-1500 Vulcan - it's gone now

Write a letter to Suzuki telling them about the run-around you are getting from this one particular dealer. They pay more attention to written complaints. (ask me how I know ) Then find another dealer that has a decent reputation and take it there. This board for example is a good reference to which dealer in your area might be the right one. Not all dealers are "stealers". I have had alot of bikes over the years and have only had 1 or two "run ins". The dealer I bought my M109 from knows that I left quite a bundle over the years with him so when I call because of this or that, the only thing he doesn´t do for me is to roll out the red carpet I have not had any problems with mine, not even the overfill with oil and since the 1st of May I have put over 3000 km on it would have even more, but then I have to work for a living ;) I have said this before, my busa was faster but I have never had a bike that I have enjoyed more then this one. Good luck getting your problems resolved and believe me the M109 is a da*n good bike for the money

I would go back over everything to make sure that something didn't get unplugged, pinched, loose...etc from your mods. It could just be something stupid like a ground issue.

If the dealer gives you a hard time.....wait around till they get real busy...walk in and loud talk about your problems...but don't be nasty , just talk loud as hell so everyone can hear.
:D
The promises will start rolling....I gaurantee.

Not around my dealership it wouldn't help you get what you want. All it'd do is get you kicked out and escorted off the property. Seen it done. Owner doesn't take crap from people once they start acting like this!! It's pretty childish if you ask me! ::)

Ummmm...I said don't be nasty about it....It ain't about giving crap...it's about service, the man just dropped 12+ G's on a bike and ain't getting no help....
so you gonna suggest he walk away with his tail between his legs...I think not.

And I'll be darned if I get escorted anywhere if I were to speak of my issues...this is precisely why these bike dealers are as bad as they are because they have no standards to live by....the customer service is lacking and service department stinks because were to affraid to say anything, salesman in general don't know anything about the bikes and will walk the other way if they think a customer doesn't look like he can buy....every other post on this forum is about dealers and sevice departments...need I be specific ?

As a Luxury BMW car Manager...I know what I speak of....and if we did 1/4 of what these dealers do..we'd be out of buisness....real quik !

Grow a set my friend !

Well at least we now know how to handle things at your dealership! All I'm saying is that there are other ways to get things taken care of. So it's not about "Growing a Set" dumb a$$! I was just giving my opinion of how I would handle it and what would happen in the dealership where I work!

In fact maybe you should Grow a set and not give in to the childish tactics of your customers. Once you (the customer) raise your voice or start swearing at me I'm done helping you. I don't deserve to be treated this way, I wouldn't raise my voice at you and expect the same in return. I'll do my very best to help you until this point, then its bye bye until you can act like a civilized human being and not disrupt my business. I understand that these dealerships aren't taking care of things like they should be, but does that mean that two wrongs make a right? Maybe at your Luxury dealership it does, but in the real world that WE all live in it doesn't! In my OPINION, Just be polite and persistant and they should help you out. :)

By the way, the owner of my store will always sit and listen to your problem and do his very best to correct whatever has gone wrong untill you raise your voice at him.

Do you read ? or do you speed read and pic words out of sentences ? Yes there is a way to handle things at dealers....I was mearly stating that the man was having a hard time getting things accomplished with his dealer.

If you READ these threads...you see there are a LOT of complaints about dealers...and service departments...and one way to change it is to let them know
how we feel instead of puppy dogging everytime something happens.

I don't see JD power doing any reviews of Manufactures and evaluating how they perform....why , because we don't care or we let the "CRAP" continue
withought saying anything....and let everything be everything.

Yea...they have surveys...but what of them ? My salesman knew absolutely nothing of the bike...nor the programs...nor the jacket offer...didn't go over the bike at delivery, but he asked me to give him a "PERFECT" survey.....why should I, did he earn it...heck no ?

I'm not going to get into anything or try to match wits with you... over someone elses misfortunes...but this board is here to help others and communicate ....if you are going to say
that something is childish...or post just to boost you count then thats ok....
Bring something to the table sometimes....I read your posts... impress me and others for once...

I suspect you follow Bush ?

I will end with this. I'm not here to impress you or your snooty Luxury BMW friends or anyone else. I'm here cause I love this bike and all the information I've learned from Lamont, Hal, JR and all the other guys who know Way more than I do. We all give our opinions of things and thats what makes this site so great! I'm not sticking up for and dealership as we've all heard the problems and we all deal with them differently I just don't think that the idea to "wait around till they get real busy...walk in and loud talk about your problems...but don't be nasty , just talk loud as hell so everyone can hear" would work here, at my dealership and wanted to warn him of what could possibly happen. Besides, so what if they do help him this time, think they'll do everything possible next time? No cause you treated them like $h1T last time!

I wasn't trying to put you down in my original post, it wasn't anything personal just my opinion, but you've sure made it personal! So maybe you are the one who doesn't read and has his luxury feelings on his shoulders! Pull your luxury thumb out of your mouth and grow up!
