was reading through my new service manual today and found something interesting.

our bike has an automatic engine shutoff that is not well known. if you rev the engine to 7100 rpms while A) the clutch is in, or B) it is in neutral, the engine will shut off automatically.

i'd read on another post that one rider's engine died right when he was getting on it real hard. i bet this is what happened. if you redline the bike in gear, then shift, it's very possible this could happen.

i bet you are right, but it doesn't specify the amount of time. after reading more, it also states that the fuel is cutoff at the injector at 7200 rpm regardless of clutch or gear positions. so, it sounds like our rev limiter is at 7200 instead of 7500 like we thought.
