Hey just wondering if anyone is doing this ride? I am going to be heading up to DC probably on the 29th and staying a night for the event to happen on the 30th.

This is going to be my first event like this and I am pretty damn excited. Part of it being because I am military too lol. Be an awesome experience regardless how packed and busy this place is going to be.

Here is a link for the information on it.

If you want to hit me up when in DC my number is 910 389 7438. I've only been to DC once before, so like Ill be exploring on the 29th lol.

I'm going up on the 29th, staying at RIP's Country Inn in Bowie, MD. Meeting a couple other guys that I've been riding with for a couple years now there, riding over to stage for the parade Sunday morning, then back to RIP's to party and sleep, then back down to NC Monday morning. This will my first year doing this event, some of the others I'm going with have done it before.
BTW, where in NC are you? I'm in Jacksonville, been in the Corps for 17 1/2 years now.

Let me know if you guys want to get together before hand. I am only 15 minutes from Bowie.

I have gotten a group every year to do the ride. We first rolled out of FT Washington HD. They police escort 10,000 plus bikes from there to the Pentagon parking lot. Then you just wait, a couple of hours to roll out from there and do the parade route. Pictures do not do it credit. Everyone should do this at least once. Then I park and usually go down to "the wall". Beware it is very emotional there.

I will talk to a few local people and see if they want to get a group together again. I will post it in the MD and VA chapter if I do. Ride safe. :doorag:

That'd be great! I know there will be one guy coming over from Delaware, and one from Gloucester, Va, guys I've known for years from our Sabre forum, not sure if anymore are going to show up. Another member there is friends with Harris "Bigpapa109", and another member there is Jason "censored" here, maybe they'll show up?

Here's the thread on thesabrehood where we are talking about it- http://www.thesabrehood.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1371073, Bernie "Big B" is the one that knows Harris.

There is a free BBQ from 11am to 4pm at the HD of Washington on the 29th. I think that would be a good place to meet up a day prior, free food!

I saw a black M90 at the Wendys on the Air Station a couple weeks ago. I was with Recon out in Courthouse Bay for the last 4 years, and just PCA'd to Radio Bn in French Creek. I actually live just down the road from New River off of Murrill Hill Road, (one road South on 17 from New River HD). I know there are a couple 109's with Road Kings MC here in J'ville but I keep missing them. If you've been here for over a year you may have seen me on my old bike, (now my wife's ride) 2005 Honda Sabre, (pic attached). Where do you live?

Just got back from a year det in Iraq late Jan. There is a blue 9 with a white strip down the middle in the same work area as me. I like at the legacy/abbingtion apartments back behind the old walmart.

That M90 was probably me, especially if I was parked next to a white car lol.

Not sure about the white car?

I met that guy with the blue LE at a Rolling Thunder poker run from Britt's a couple months ago, I thought he said he's getting out soon?

That's funny that you just got back, I was over there then too, left Jan. 14, '09 with II MEF FWD, G-6. Ran the EKMS account at Camp Baharia, then moved the account to Camp Korean Village. I came home in June for my 15 days leave and actually wrecked the Sabre up in West Virginia, (put it back together and gave it to my wife so she could move up from her 750) had some surgery on my ankle and thumb so I didn't go back over, just returned to full duty last month.

Im not sure who it is, he parks next to me. I think he is Avionics.

Heh I left Jan 14th also with MALS 26. Was on Al Asad my entire det though. I am with MALS Ordnance but right now I am FAPed to 990 heh. Was like the last of the MALS unit to leave Iraq (we left like 10 people from Ordnance though to make sure the rest left). Not familiar with Baharia, but do know Sahl Sinjar, KV and TQ lol. Retrograding Iraq sucked, lots of stories there ha. Did lots of fun/stupid stuff too of course haha. There was a magazine with a bunny on it, saying he did way worse for 70$ that was like our true motto hah. Sucks about the accident :( we had to send one guy home cause he busted his face open, split his jaw in half and lost a tooth (we found it though amazingly!)

Heading to bed myself now lol its late.
