Can someone please tell me what our stock rims are made out of
because the guy polishing them is having a problem and seems to think their not aluminum. Thanks

Aluminum.

They are an Aluminum Alloy. There are tons of different alloys out there. But yes they are Aluminum. (mostly)

There's a video on here somewhere about how to polish our wheels. I'd check the Pics and video section and have your polisher watch it.

:agree: You also might want to consider taking them to a different polisher? You can always contact Jerry/Liquidpain.

You can find a lot of pictures of polished stock rims on here, print some off and show them to him. There are some that are hard to tell from chrome.

If the guy doing the polishing doesn't know what kind of metal/material he is dealing with, it my be best if you find someone who really knows what they are doing. If he messes up your wheels, you are likely to be very upset, and you probably won't want them back on your bike messed up. I don't know about you, but if my bike is not looking the way I want it to look, I won't ride it. There is nothing worse than being on your bike, riding with others, and knowing that your bike looks jacked up. Bad looking wheels really stick out like a sore thumb...especially when the bike is parked.
