Hi guys, I’ve recently just bought a new well, not new secondhand tank because I smashed my one up pretty bad. It came with none of the fuel pump at all. I was looking on YouTube about how to replace the filter, and I saw a wire sticking out of the tank. My new one doesn’t have that wire sticking out of it. I’m presuming it’s got something to Do with the fuel, gauge and the float. Is it an easy job to take the one out of my old tank, And put it into the new one ?

It's not hard, if you can take out the fuel pump the float comes out the same way. It's clipped to the inside of the tank right beside the opening the pump goes through. The connector going into the fuel pump plate splits into two connectors on the inside, one goes to the float and the other goes to the pump.

If you have the manual it shows how to remove and install it on pages 6-8 and 6-9. If you don't have the service manual, you can download it in the Files section of the forum, it's midway down in the main forum list and is under the Assorted Docs and Images sub forum. The link below should take you to it.

To some extent its way easy but don't think it would be quite silly; mean replacing a new one with an old version??

I don't think the "Owners Manual" covers that kind of detail.
He will need the "Service Manual" to see that.

That's what I get for trying to watch TV and post at the same time. At least I got the page numbers in the service manual right. :)
Apologies to the OP for the misdirect.

Thanks for all your help guys. I’m just gonna get the new tank painted the same colour as the old one and then I’ll be able to replace everything. Thanks for all your help very much appreciated. Cheers, Neil
