2010 EVENT INFO
This year's event will take place on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Again this year, we will stage in the rear of the National Air and Space Museum - Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center for our opening ceremonies.
After a police-escorted ride from Dulles Airport to the Pentagon, we will visit the Pentagon Memorial.
Motorcycle staging at the Opening Ceremonies location at the National Air and Space Museum - Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center will take place from 8:00am to 10:00am. The actual Opening Ceremonies will start promptly at 9:00am.
From VA State Route 28, exit at the Air and Space Museum Parkway to a right turn at GATE 317 (will close promptly at 10:00am). Once on Dulles Airport grounds, follow Police directions to the staging area. Click here for a map.
This is an event open to all motorcyclists, and all makes and models of motorcycles are welcome. You do NOT need to register and there's NO registration fee; just show up!
Our event will take on the Sunday after September 11th due to several logistical reasons:

  • More people are able to attend during a weekend;
  • The Pentagon parking lot would not be available on September 11th;
  • The VA State Police would not allow for any road closures for our escorted ride during a weekday.

Well, depending on when you get there, it can be several hours before you depart. The ride itself lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. Then, once you're at the Pentagon, they have additional speakers and events set up, and I think culminating in a walk over to the Pentagon Memorial site. Its police escorted all the way. Each time I've done it, there have been people pulled off to the side of the road waving from their cages, or standing on the bridges snapping pics and waving down at us as we ride by. Is a great, great ride, and I encourage anyone local who hasnt done this ride, to please do.

Tom is coming over to check some things on my ride and possibly sync the throttle bodies as that is what we think the issue is now with Christine,,,

I will probably go with Tom again and if so I will get you the yearly patches.
