Sounds like a nice time, that reminds me of my first black Hayabusa in 1999.
I've read the specs on the 06 Busa and they have to be a "Real Ride". Rumor has it that Busa riders are trained by NASA and have to contact Mission Control at Houston everytime they "Light" the wick.BigBoreBiker said:Sounds like a nice time, that reminds me of my first black Hayabusa in 1999.
phaed said:must have been a great time. i've had similar reactions just about anywhere i go. went to a poker run/rally today (columbus, ga), and i know exactly what you are talkin about when folks see the rear end....their eyes light up and they point like a bird dog.
Where at in PA ?. I'm out in Honey Brook and picking up my 109R this weekend. We could always do a side by side 109R group.bob109 said:Folk:
Every Thursday in NE Pa, there is a Lone Star Steak House which sponsors "Bike Night". I attended two weeks ago for the first time this season. It was a beautiful night with temps in the low 70's. Needless to say with temps like that the turn out was amazing, approximately 1000 bikes showed. There are no restrictions so the array of bikes was unbelievable....from classic Triumphs to Boss Hogs with Nitro it was a bikers eyefeast of some of the sweetest machines you could lay your eyes on. I parked my silver 109 under one of the light standards and walked about 30 ft. away and stood with a friend. We could not believe the reaction of the folks who first did a double take when they passed the 109 and then returned two and three time to admire the bike. When I tell you that they would be on their on their hands and knees checking things out would be a understatement. When people would get to the back of the bike their eyes would get large and they would get a big grin on their faces. After about a hour of this I walked over to the bike to get my jacket and was immediately swarmed by people wanting to know about the bike. To my surprise those donning Harley clothing were the most curious and appreciative of the bikes style and features."Talk about being a proud bike owner" I was probably a foot off the ground with pride. I never did get to leave the bike that evening as the folks and questions never ended until 2 hours later.
There is no question in this bikers mind that Suzuki did do their research and homework on what the "PUBLIC WANTED"....from impressive HP and torque numbers to some awesome styling this bike seems to be a addiction to onlookers.....that may wane after time but for the moment, as 109 owners, be prepared to be surrounded by curious folks with lots of questions and "enjoy the moment".
I'm in Madisonville Pa. about 12 miles south east of Scranton. I've run into three other 109 riders who regularly attend bike night. The Lone Star Restaurant is located just off I-81, Wilkes Barre Exit to Kidder St.Felix T Cat said:Where at in PA ?. I'm out in Honey Brook and picking up my 109R this weekend. We could always do a side by side 109R group.
That is so true non-bikers always give the most praise. Most dont know one bike from another every cruiser is a harley. The always think my Buell is a Ducati. Some don't know what the hell it is. But at least it gets praise from bikers and non-bikers alike.Fritz said:I kinda hate to burst, yer bubble. And I DO own an 109.But I got the bike because of
the engine, the inverted forks, and the way it fit me.I prefer drag bars.
The Roadliner,is still better looking to me.I'm not at all impressed with the middle of the
109.The engine and tank are crammed-in like a VTX. Actually the 109 has a rather cheapy
lookin { like a Volusia or Marauder } engine and tank.
The speedo and tach are well placed and efficient. But I find it very disingenuous, that
Real Bikers, are gonna be bowled over by the M109.5 will getcha 10,most glowing praise
is BY newbies or those who never owned a bike.I went thru this same thing,With My Rune.
It got rather sickenening. At gas pumps, parking lots,on the street, most Praise was
by Non Bikers...Sadfully ! I rest Me Case
With all the negatives you see in the 109, maybe you should have stuck with the "RUNE" ! As they don't make them anymore I think thats where the "bubble burst". Gee.....with the 109 in hot demand I'll bet you could get what you paid for it or even a few dollars more. Sell it and buy the Roadliner. I rest my case!Fritz said:I kinda hate to burst, yer bubble. And I DO own an 109.But I got the bike because of

In a few more weeks you might just be able to make some money off this bike.bob109 said:With all the negatives you see in the 109, maybe you should have stuck with the "RUNE" !
