Oil change questions

I thought oil changes were easy, but i need to be sure. ok, Last year (July) I went synthetic (amsoil 10W-40) runs great with no problems. I called a local shop and they have 10W-30 and that should be fine for here (Charleston, SC), is there a grade that these bikes should stick too? I have put on about 2500-3000 miles since then. Also, what is a good oil for drive shaft?:dontknow::dontknow:

Thanks for the help Hink, This helped alot. I feel much smarter:D
I would stick with 10w40. Use Mobil 1 4T, your local auto parts store or Walmart should have it on there shelf. Also do not forget the new crush washers and torque them to spec. Besides that looks like you all all of the information you need to do the job.
I would stick with 10w40.......
:agree: Stick with 10W-40. Your current Amsoil or Mobil 1 4T are both excellent choices. I would not do 10W-30 in your area. Your average summer high exceeds the Suzuki max for 10W-30.

I use Mobil 1 Synthetic Gear Lube LS 75W-90 for the final drive. Amsoil also has a great gear lube.
thanks guys for your help, i went ahead and tried the mobil 1 10w 40 and the 9 runs great!! much easier to find than the amsoil too. not sure if i will stick to mobil 1, but no complaints here:hot::hot:
