I Just got my HID in today and installed it. Low beams work nice a bright and cool, but when I flip the swtich to high beam it cuts off. Is that supposed to happen with my particular brand? Or anyone have anything on this? Like it only runs high beam all the time?

Resurrecting an old post, but I have a question for you Joe...

I received my NOVA HID in the mail today and, while going over the installation directions, I don see any mention of the extra bag of wiring with a fuse and +/- battery terminal connections that came with it...not exactly plug & play is it :dontknow:
Hmmm it should be completely plug and play. There was no wires that ran to the battery terminal. Able to take a picture and post everything you got?
Hmmm lets see with my trusted paint program I circle the wires. One in yellow the other in red. Now the one in red I would assume goes to the H4 bulb. Next the wires in yellow... when I had mine thats were the plug went that supplied power to the old bulb. Thats all what was needed to install it. You should beable to check if the plug works without disassembling the front cowl, I'll leave it at that. If it doesnt workout then I think you might have to use all the supplied stuff. They may have changed how they manufactured their products, dunno why maybe there was a flaw in the old one. Only the company would know though.

My HID was Yana Shinki brand and it was plug and play, it uses a normal bulb and a hid bulb, at first it only worked HID on high beams, so I reversed terminals and now it works on low beam, so no more annoying blue high beam indicator lamp on.

Not sure if this even helps but it's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The NOVA HID works with a single telescopic bulb. This bulb moves in and out to produce a low and high beam output. I haven't had the chance to install it yet, but will get it on in the next few days...

That's usually what the extra harness is for to activate the high beam. Maybe that's why it's not working for the other guy inquiring.
