hey everybody, just joined after trading my mean streak in on a 109. Gotta say I love the 109 so far but has anyone noticed a pretty severe vibration when you pull the throttle fairly hard in 4th or 5th like you are going to pass a slow mover at 45mph or so? It's not as smooth as my meanie was.

Welcome ;D Yes I find that this bike does not like to be lugged or else you get a lot of drivetrain chatter.

Yeah, she is waaaay more revvy than a Meanie. She is much more comfy whirring around at 3500 - 400 rpm than at 2,000 RPM. I'd say, if you're trying to gun past someone at 45 mph in 5th gear, you shifted into 5th too early.

Well we know that the 109 will do 127 in 4th now so I would say that's a good passing gear.

thanks for the info. I'll have to remember to drop a gear in the future. I figured with the triple vib dampning and the amout of power and torque this thing has it would be smooth all the way up the power band. Oh well I can live with it. It's still a way smoother ride than my ridged Ironhorse chopper.

just down shift a coupla gears and punch it. ride safe. ride hard.

I'll down shift into third around 60 mph if I need to get moving in a hurry.
