I have a new duel HID kit from A&R. I am doing the testing for Rob on how it works. I should have feedback to him shortly so the kit should be available in the next couple of weeks. I will update this thread with future feedback.

My concerns - when switching to the high beam and having a delay (going dark), but the low beam stays on all the time so that issue of mine has been addressed.

Robs concerns
- He was unsure of the amount of heat when the high beams were on. I rode it for an hour today with the high beams on. No issues found as of yet, but it was in the 50's today.

Here is a picture of the bulb.

I just heard back from him on pricing, this is a copy of his email to me on the group buy price. Coupon code Rynosback.

Full Bixenon where both lights work with the Highs: $145.00 I have this kit

Full Bixenon where lows and highs work separately: $135.00 Another member is getting this kit in a week to 10 days. I have asked him for his feedback on it.

Upgrade to old kit where both lights work with the Highs: $110.00 Customer must have working digital ballast
Upgrade to old kit where lows and highs work separately: $105.00 Customer must have working digital ballast

So how bright is it on high beam? I like the concept of not having the electromagnetic switch for low/high beam, but I don't want to get a ticket either. :D

And is it brighter on low beam since the beam isn't shielded?

You and I have discussed this, but I will put it out there so it is public as well:

I custom made a dual bulb system much like that.

My low beam is a 35w 30,000k bulb and my high beam is a 70w 8,000k bulb.

I also ran mine on a relay so the low beam was on all the time so the high-beam warm-up lag would not leave me in the dark.

Even with the 35w & 70w bulbs running, I never had a heat issue, so I can not imagine that running 2 35w bulbs will be any issue.

Keep us posted on this one.

I can tell you it is WAY BRIGHTER without the shield.

I got two, with only high beam working...its way better than stock, and much safer at night both for seeing and beeing seen. I live right next to the air base, and I think a couple 16s tried landing on me but other than that no complaints.

I am assuming we are stuck with the old and busted cuz it looks like the new hotness has 2 plugs and I am assuming a bigger ballast would be needed to run the low beam all the time and the high beam only some of the time

PS - what in the hell was your avatar that u got it banned

That figures... but we'll wait and see... I LOVE these HID's....

My avatar was a nice middle finger salute... the MODS took it down... I took a look at SOME people's avatars (like yours per se) and just shake my head... don't know which one did it, but they could have AT LEAST asked me to pick something else... NOPE... didn't say a word... logged on one day and it was GONE!!

I hate it when people HIDE behind power... didn't have the BALLS to confront me... gee... no big deal though. It's a free site... guess I'm subject to THEIR rules.

For those of us with the old kit... will this be a plug & play? Will there be a modification harness available? Or will we be stuck with the old & busted until we upgrade to the new hotness??
It is a plug and play kit also. You might be able to reuse some of the kit. I will ask him when I next email him.

Hey Ryan... has anyone done any testing on the kit with the low and highs on at the same time? This is what I would prefer to run... but I gotta believe it gets CRAZY hot in there... especially on a nice balmy 95 degree night.

Correct. The weather is forecasting rain all weekend so riding does not look that promising right now. As soon as I get more ride time in I will post up my conclusions. Plus I want to get photos vs the other HIDs that A&R offers.
