I just replaced my second one this weekend at a little over 9000 miles....North Carolina roads are like sandpaper :D It is the best value on the market for our bikes. The local Yamaha dealer wanted my business so bad he gave me a better price installed, then my ex-dealer and DLP combined on the last one.

7000 seems to be the magic number... (average)

I bought my 109 this time last year and I've gone through 2 E3's since then. First one had 1000 miles on it (allegedly) when I bought the bike. I put up another 5100 miles on that tyre before it was done. The second E3 I hit 7400 miles before it needed changing. The tyre guy recommended the Metz 880 XLmarathon as he was seeing upwards of 9000miles on his 240 rear tyre. :dontknow:

E3 and 880 were the same price so I figured what the heck, he fitted one for me and I'll be keeping a record of the mileage.

It must have a lot to do with driving style and road surface conditions for sure.

I will say I am impressed with the grip from the metzeler. Especially so in wet conditions.

I know your liking the Metz for riding performance but I think you will be disappointed with the mileage as most members here report about 25% less between the E-3. Here Metz are almost double the price of an E-3 comparing the 260 to a 250.

It's great to hear the kind of milage you can get, when you say under 2300 rpms. Do you also get 48 to 50, miles to the gallon as well:dontknow:

I got over 11,000 on my first rear E3 250, and the front E3 is still on at 12,000 miles. It's getting close to the wear bars but should be good for close to 13,000 miles.

Much better than the 5200 miles I got out of the stock tires.

July 08 E3 front and rear installed now 8,967 miles later rear is starting to show some wear, the front looks great. I don't baby her and ride almost everyday to work year round no snow or rain unless I'm caught in it coming home.
