Freedom Performance Swept makes a 'quiet baffle' but they're hard to get...while I'm waiting I bolted an 'inside pipe JUST inside the tip of the top exhaust pipe that restricts the exhaust a weeee bit. It INCREASED the (3000 to 5000 rpm mid-range power and DECREASED the noise...I know it's a backyard way of doing things but it works...PEACE RIDE SAFE.

When I was a kid I had a Honda 350 Scrambler that had the washer thingy built into the pipes. No mufflers, or I don't remember it having any, just the washer that you could turn to quieten it down in town. It came from the factory that way. The pipes wrapped around the engine and came up high on the left side of the bike.
Two of my friends with the Harley Twin-Cams (Street Bob and a Wide Glide) would bend the flanges on the 'inside' of their THUNDERHEADERS inward to restrict the flow. They said it improved their 'midrange' and would tone down the sound a weeeee bit. The exup valve on the Yamaha Raider will increase and decrease the back pressure. I believe their is a similar valve (can't think of its name) that works the same on the M109...PEACE RIDE SAFE

That bike is sick, not feeling the exhaust though. Hey its your ride we don't have to like it but I would look at other exhausts options there are so many
I found both the Freedom Exhaust Swepts and the Cobra Swepts at 'West End Motorcycles'. I bought them online...The 1st thing I noticed was the WEIGHT you will be losing when you get rid of the stock system (there is a formula that shows the horsepower required to accelerate one/1 pound from zero to sixty and you are saving over 50 pounds or 60 pounds...sorry don't know the formula. Maybe some the engineers on the forum know it). The 2nd thing I noticed was the increase in cornering clearance (especially with the Freedoms). The 3rd thing was the sound and looks (I chose the Freedoms because they were shorter and their sound seemed mellower, mellow is a scientific term used only by old hippies that still listen to Doo *** music...The Cobras were great too BUT I felt they were a weee bit tooo long...PEACE RIDE SAFE

I forgot to mention that the COBRA exhaust system has been EPA (50 states approved)...I, however, still prefer the FREEDOM exhaust system for the above 3 reasons. Its 'mellow' sound won't attract the law unless you're careless with the throttle...Most police officers ticket for speeding or dangerous riding rather than the sound....PEACE RIDE SAFE
