Has anyone changed their own gear oil yet?

I changed mine at first oil change. I used Amsoil synthetic gear oil.

Changed the oil Monday and am changing the gear oil Saturday.
Can you please post some pics when you're changing it, I want to try and do mine.

I can't remember exactly how much it took, I filled it to the bottom of the fill hole. The service manual shows it takes between 200 and 220 ml

There is no differenece between the 109 final drive and the 90 final drive.

Changing your final gear oil is simple.

Remove drain plug at bottom, let drain completely
Replace drain plug, tighten to 16.5 lb-ft
Remove fill hole plug
Fill 75w-90 gear oil until top of fill hole
Replace fill hole plug until snug.

You cant mess this up!

I recommend you change at every oil change. Its not that much. .25 of a quart maybe. So one quart of final gear lube will last you 4 oil changes, not that costly

How many ks did you do before you changed it ?
I changed mine at the first oil change (600 miles / 1,000 km)
