I am currently in the buying mode and narrowing down to a selection. I'm a big guy; 6' 3", 300lbs so I am in need of a big bike. I used to ride zx9r and cbr900rr long ago and started riding again last year on a Triumph Trophy 1200. I went to the recent Atlanta bike show and realized that alot of cruisers(particularly the HDs) are really small bikes. I looked like I was on a toy. I narrowed down my selection to the Kaw Vulcan 2000 or the Zook M109R and was wondering if anyone had experience with both of these and could compare them. Thanks.

Never ridden the kaw but from everyone I have talked to and what I have read it doesn't compare to the 109. There have been several reviews and the vtx has always done better in the head to head comparisons. It also depends on the type of riding you do. Take a look at the new yamaha if you want big.

I have owned the Vulcan 2000 Traded it for a vtx neo and traded that for the m109 this all in the span
of 14 months. Yes my wife thinks I am crazy. I IMHO found the Vulcan to be a good bike but also
it wasn't worth a damn if your going to ride inside city limits. It rode very well on the highway and dressed out very nice but you have to spend quite a bit to make it comfortable. AND WORD OF WARNING I put 3 inch Hard Kromes on it and My neighbors asked me to please let it idle completely out of the sub division.

I think its all according to What kind of riding your going to do. 5 -7 hundred miles a day I would go with the
Vulcan. 150 -300 mile days m109 ,city driving Deff M109. Ability to do after market purchases so far the
VTX has it covered. I know I didn't help but Whatever you buy You will Like because you decided.

well not sure if this help either i too am about your size and i have rode the vulcan 2000 never own one just test ride one and i agree with what was said all i can really tell you is i have already done 150 stright on the M109 with the only change being the grips and i had no problems you have a hard pic between the 2 for me i traded in a 1600 vulcan for the M109 and happy with my choice know it is not a 2000. but what ever you choose make sure you take your time and get what is best for you not what a sales person think is best for you due to you will be the one makeing the payments..........hehehehehehehe

Thanks for the opinions guys. It definately helps. Originally I was looking at the VTX as well but just don't like the looks of the rear shocks. Nice big bike though. Seems it comes down to traditional looks vs a more unique cruiser interpretation. As far as power and handling it seems the M109R has the advantage....man I do love power and handling bwahaha. I've seen it stated in a cruiser mag that Suzuki was going to release 2 cruisers this year(M109R being the first) and 2 next year. I wonder what they will be and if they are going to use this awesome motor. I think it is about time for the M109C(chopper) and the M109P(prostreet).
