I am researching doing an intake like these.

http://www.m109riders.com/forum/index.php?topic=1554.0

http://www.m109riders.com/forum/index.php?topic=4379.from0#new

They both use the same filter. I am hoping to get a little bit larger filter, and or maybe even a different shape.
Some how when I started researching I edned up at a K&N site with all kinds of filters listed.
This was actually a BAD thing because if you go to the wrong place there are about a million and they are not posted in any kind of order.
This means you have to open each link to determine if it is even close to the size you want!!
I emailed K&N and voila! they gave me a better link

SO...

DO NOT GO HERE!!!

http://shop.knfilters.com/KNShop/Department.aspx?cat=Universal+Air+Filters

PLEASE GO HERE.
http://www.knfilters.com/universal/universal.htm

It is very easy to find what you want till you realize they have so many nuances you "MAY" want
For instance, some of these already have a hole there for a 1/2 in fitting....

You can phone in orders for the filters im running and they will ship to you.
Southern Karting Superior Racing Products, 5303 Wesconnet Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32244, (904) 573-9900. Part #1266 Filter, $9.00 each.
I would do this, but I am impatient and would like to have them on this weekend : )
Also, I do have a slim chance of getting something cool... but if that falls through, these will be permanant and I wouldn't want to have to keep replacing them.

So K&N is the way to go.
But I really am hoping to get something else... If he remembers my request and fixes me up

Hope he See's this post and can help me soon !!!! :D

From one of the older posts.... we are actually looking for a 2" diameter ??
Is this correct? It seems small...
Both of the links I quoted used a 2 inch diameter flanged filter. There are other threads/options like JR's too, but I imagine the opening is close in size.
There are so many options that I cant decide! shapes/sizes/offset flanges.... I have a ride set up for Friday AM to Cloud canyon in the NW corner of Georgia.
When I get home I will start taking her apart to study the issue, and I also have some accessories to install. I hope to decide by then and get them installed the next weekend. I may even go with an oval look that has a 1 inch offset. I figure that will make the 2 sides look a little more even.

As for the Big air. I really like it. (CHROME ABAY!!) I may still get one, or something else professional later on if I really dont like what I end up doing.
But I am also lazy once I have made a change. When you compare them to others, and consider the fact that you get 2 of them it is not too bad a price.
but when you open the wallet, it is still a little steep. Maybe we should weigh it HP vs $$??

As for the difference to what it costs for your car/truck, well there are alot more of even the slowest selling cars on the road then there are 109's. so the cost to design/create them gets spread across alot more customers.
