They're finicky about charging voltage , too low or too high kills them. In cold climates they can be weak , so you leave the lights on for several minutes before you start the bike and it warms up the battery. They can sit quite a long time without being charged. When they crap out , it's all at once , no warning like a weak AGM battery , so sooner or later you're stuck. Then there's also the occasional thermal runaway/bonfire. I just bought a new Yuasa for my 9 , they're all I will use any more , even cheopo , off brand AGM batteries aren't worth the eventual aggravation.

I have not had good luck with AGM batteries. I don't find that they last any longer than flooded lead acid batteries, and in some cases they don't last as long. Any of my bikes that are in storage or not being used on a regular basis are connected to battery maintainers. I wonder if the charging requirements for an AGM battery are being met by the charging system on the M109R? Many battery maintainers and chargers have a way to select the type of battery being charged. I haven't had good luck with any Batteries plus Bulbs AGM batteries.
I've had a couple of their batteries and they both only lasted two or 3 years on two different bikes , with battery tenders in between and regular riding. That's why I've gone back to Yuasa , I've had others too in 53 years of riding and racing.
