I chopped the beavertail off the bike and remounted the # plate with the factory bracket. Had to build a couple of temp mounts for the LED indicators (just to get me legal) ..not sure I like them and may change them soon.Â
Couldn't find anything in the way of a LED # plate light that I liked locally, so I decided to build my own.
Four 3mm/3.5VÂ LED's (and mounting shoulders)Â from local Dick Smith Sore.
Drilled four ....6mm holes spaced to suit the ribbing (underneath) in the plastic tail. LED's are completely hidden and project onto the plate at an angle
The plastic was too thick for the little LED mounts so I had to glue them in and for good measure I put a generous dob of glue on the back of the LED's to support the wires and prevent water and crap getting anywhere near the wiring.
Trimmed and wired the 4 in series to get the 13.8V working voltage I needed.
The screw holes in the metal support plate (pic 1) needed to be filed about 2mm 'oval' for the plate to clear the holes for the LED's

Done!
Nothing visible

Yeah..I'll get a new number plate sometime! :dontknow:
