I'll lead my group to the rally point in Fairfax City. It's pretty basic

I'll leave the Giant parking lot off of 123 in Lorton (just north of the old Lorton Prison) at 0800. That should put us at the Fairfax rally point no later than 0830...will give you 20-30 minutes there to drool over other bikes and all that jazz

Kickstands up from that point at 0900...Now the fun part...we are escorted by police all the way to RFK stadium...yes, we get to ride without worries of cages cutting us off as each portion of road we are on will be shut down. It is pretty cool, and not the ususal 4mph clutch frenzy as other rides of this size....the pace stays pretty constant and enjoyable.

Once we get to RFK...there are vendors, and normally one or two food tents....then from that location we are lead out to the Law Enforcement Memorial again under police escort and after that, you park, walk around or whatever....

Going home is all on you...It's all in all a fun time and I do it every year and always have a good time, rain or shine ;-)

Will try and make it (Father of three and wife for some reason thinks Mother's Day is a day the kids spend with their Dads? She says the same thing on Father's Day?) :dontknow:
I am new to the area and need to find new escape routes.

HA sounds awesome.....

Yeah it's mothers day and that's the biggest complaint of this ride....but It's also the start of Law Week so...little change to the ride schedule...they actually tried changing weekends a few years back, but didn't get much intrest for some reason having it fall on the weekend after....

As they say "yeah we know it's mothers day, so bring mom with ya" LOL

Which is what I do...Pops brings mom along on his wing....all have a good time

Yeah, there is a bbq joint just outside of town there that I like. Last time I rode down there (last year) I took a couple of buddies who had never been. The bbq joint wasnt opened when we came in to town, so we stopped at the "casino" for some grub. Tooled around for a bit, and on the way home, it just figures that the joint was opened. Didnt stop as we had just ate, but I was ticked off about it!

I love Colonial Beach though - I remember driving down there with my popp years and years ago to go fishing off the pier. Good times indeed
