Was a beautiful day yesterday and I decided to go for a ride. Two hours into in was leaving from a stop light and a guy in a Ford Ranger cut me off then braked quickly to turn into a parking lot, I didn't hit him but the front brake locked up and the wheel started to slide so she came down. I was doing about 30 mph she is really banged up though I'm okay got a nice cherry on my hip and some scraps on my elbow, thank god I had my backpack on or I would have no skin on my back.

Keep an eye out for the cagers because they don't care about you.

Sorry to hear about your accident, man. Glad you're OK.

Let me guess - the Ford Ranger driver got a slap on his wrist or less?

I'm sorry to hear what happened to you today brother. I'm in Florida and can't tell you how many times people cut in front of me! Before we had the old timers, now we have stupid people texting and driving at the same time! Well, I'm glad you are alive! You're going to be okay and the bike can be replaced.
TO ALL RIDERS: WATCH OUT WHILE WAITING ON A STOP SIGN AND TRAFFIC LIGHT!!!!!! PLEASE KEEP YOUR EYES ON YOUR REAR VIEW MIRRORS TO WATCH FOR CRAZY DRIVERS TEXTING AND DRIVING!!!!
My best regards and prayers for your fast recovery!!! H

Best wishes friend, don't feel bad about your reflexes... some people say squeeze the front brake some say stomp the rear.. fact is either will lock up and either will put you down. On two wheels we don't have the luxury of a panic stop.

Best wishes! Get well, get that gravel out of that skin. Good luck on getting a new/fixed bike... try to keep all your old parts for experimentation.

I'm glad you're OK bro. Seems like at the start of every new riding season there are several that go down and I'm sorry to hear you were one of them. Sometimes it doesn't matter how careful you are there's always someone stupid enough to wreck you.

Best wishes for a quick recovery and fast repairs on the bike.

Thats sux big time, and not to throw any dispersions on your abilities, but does anyone actually practice doing an emergency stop? This is one of the things they now teach with the licensing scheme here in Oz. Not only doing an emergency stop but swerving to avoid at the sametime. Just wondering does anyone actually try this on there current bike ocassionally?

He stuck around and made sure I was okay but denied everything when the cop showed up. Basically the cop said since there was no collision that he couldn't do anything to him even had two witnesses see him cut me off. I have insurance going to see what the adjuster says monday.

Well my insurance company got ahold of me and they called the guys insurance company and had a conference call with him, he told them he did cut me off and the turned within 20 feet of doing so. I really like Progressive and the guys insurance is picking up the cost for the accident.

i was taught in MSF class that if you lock up the front tire, its ok to let go of the front break , but if you lock up the back tire , you must ride it out instead of letting off the rear break.
