Finished installing the throttle lock today. I had one on a Yamaha before and it worked great. It was supposed to be a direct fit but I had to do some work. Here is what the throttle side looked like when I got it. Aside from the sharpie marks that I put on it.

It was too loose when I put it in the handlebars. Im not sure if the bars have changed from previous years but I gave Kaoko the depth to the stop inside the bars. It looked to me that I needed to take 2mm off which would mean only trimming the aluminum piece inside to flush with the outer part.

I put it on the bike like this and it was still tok far away and I needed to take another 1mm off so I went back to the shop. I have a bridgeport so I put the aluminum inner piece back in it to trim it down. Then I just sanded down the outer part with a belt sander machine. Here is what it looked like after this step.

That's an interesting design. Does it come with the new grips, I'm assuming it does since the cap matches on the other side? And did you have to drill out the slug inside the handlebars, or does it not go inside them?

The “slug” that I think you are referring to is inside the bars and is 5/8” deep into the bars. And the design was intended to just go right up into the slug. Those are the stock grips. When you want to activate the throttle lock you just sort of grab the studded thingy with your pinky finger and twist it towards yourself like adding throttle. It is on a thread that tightens up against the grip. I like it because it is simple and very clean. I dont love the add on throttle lock mechanisms.
