Hey All,  Just wondering if anyone else out there received a poll in the mail from JD POWER and ASSOC. I received this poll in the mail today. I opened it up and found a crisp 1 dollar bill (wow) and a 8 page poll. On the top of the poll was my name and my bike. The info was being requested to let the motorcycle company's know what we the riders are looking for in a bike and how Suzuki can improve on the 109. Based on the opening statements in the letter that came with the poll I am led to believe that this info will be given to Suzuki. So I took the time to fill out the entire 8 page survey and made sure that I was honest in my answers on this bike.

I did pan the bike on it's clunky transmission, because I have owned many shaft bikes before and I feel that Suzuki could have done a much better job with the trans. I also gave the 109 low marks on their clutch as well, because I also feel they could have done a better job in that dept. as well. ( maybe a hydraulic clutch setup). I would like to state that I love my 109 but I felt that if there is a chance that Suzuki is going to get this info that this would be a good time to let them know about the problems that a lot of us are encountering.

I also gave the 109 low marks in the paint dept. I have a black 109 and the clearcoat is sheet, I get scratches with the slightest of touches, again this should not be. I do think the 109 is a lot of bike for the money but just because something is a good deal does not mean that quality should be sacrificed or ignored.

I did give Suzuki Corp. a bad rating as well because many of these problems have been brought to their attention and it appears they are being ignored. I don't think there is any good reason why these bikes should be leaking anti-freeze because some bonehead left clamps loose or put to big clamp on the hoses. There should also not be all the issues we have experienced with oil overfill problems. I for one have not received a singal letter or notification form Suzuki making me aware of possible problems or solutions. Now I know you will all say they won't do that for liability reasons. I say, I bought the bike from Suzuki and I don't want to be standing on the side of the road because someone put the wrong clamps on the coolant hose between the jugs that is not accessible unless you remove the tanks so that means On the side of the road I stay till the tow shows. All I want is Suzuki to stand behind their product. Anyway just wanted to see if anyone else out there received this survey. Thanks Ray

you know it's funny... living here... i don't really gamble very much... the casinos are more of a place for us to dine or go the movies / concerts and such... they get very little of my $$$.... but that said... i like poker and such... a pool could be fun and rewarding for someone... it's free $$$.... free in... so no big deal.... i used to this when i worked in a very large Aircraft Factory... they called Douglas Aircraft back then... it's now McDonald Douglas.. we used to have a payck pool off the serial numbers on the chks.. hey i'll put up a JD buck....mjm

I remember getting one for my Vulcan 2000 and for my Audi A6, but don't recall getting one for the 109 yet. Heck I got one survey via email that promised me $30 if I completed an online survey about cars in general, asking what was more important to me, power or MPG, etc. so I did it and sure enough I got a check in the mail for $30 a week or so later.

Have only had my bike 2 weeks so wouldn't expect one yet, BUT, I work for an auto manufacturer and am familiar with how these work. J.D. Power is an independent company that randomly sends out surveys to new vehicle owners to examine the "quality" of the finished products, they then take these results and give a rating based on average "problems per unit". ALL manufacturers want the lowest number so I'm certain that Suzuki will pay attention to the results, what's cool though is that the results are unbiased and give the consumer AND the manufacturer a good idea of what the finished product is doing..........
