I mostly ride with ear plugs but every once in awhile if I am going for short trip to the store or something I wont put them in, I am noticing a clicking sound just off idle in the low gears that seems to disappear once under acceleration. It almost reminds me of being in the wrong gear. I am wondering if this is a normal sound or maybe a piece of body work is rattling either way it is driving me nuts.

You've got several things that make noise like ticks in the bike. The clutch hub when it's at idle, the fuel injectors, or maybe you have an exhaust leak. Exhaust leaks usually show up more under acceleration, but can tick at any time depending on where they are and how bad they are.

I quit worrying about odd noises on this thing about a year after I got it, or it would have driven me nuts by now. :D

...or install some loud exhaust pipes to drown out engine noise (and all other sound for that matter!!!) ;-)

Ha Ha, that's so true. There always seems to be some noise someplace.
