Go get an easy out should do the trick, You drill a pilot hole center of the shank, then you just screw the easy out into the hole and when it gets tight you just unscrew the whole thing.:edit:
Tried to be gentle and slow but I friggin broke one off in the head!! dammit

Tried vise grips but im afraid this might get ugly....er...
True, but the aluminum expands much more that steel thus enlarging the hole. The hole actually expands outward when the whole area is heated, not inward as you might think.I always thought heat expanded metal...at least back when I worked as a machinist it did. If you measured metal when it was hot, it had a larger diameter than when cool. I would drill the pilot hole, soak it with penetrating oil for several hours then use an easy out...should come right out. Good luck!
:agree:Looks like this bolt had been loose for a while and thats probably what caused the threads to sieze. With moisture getting to the threads and all.![]()
Anyone else notice how much more carbon build up is on the broken bolt? Interesting...
Thanks for the info...I'll keep that in mind in case I ever run into this situation...True, but the aluminum expands much more that steel thus enlarging the hole. The hole actually expands outward when the whole area is heated, not inward as you might think.
