Just topped 500 on the way into work this morning!!! Now I can start to open her up ;D
What were you guys told for a break in period?

I was told to take it easy for the first 150 miles - vary the RPMs at the same speed and don't really 'cruise' for the first 500 ... Seems like a pretty open ended break-in policy
I've been going by the owners manual. >3500 rpm's for the first 500 miles then keep it under 5500 rpm's until 1000 miles, vary the rpm's, etc.... The dealer said, "Don't worry about a break in period". Yeah, OK.....It's not their bike anymore.

When asked about the first oil change, he said somewhere between 1000 and 1500 miles. Again, it's noth their bike anymore. I'll stick with what the book says...600 miles.

Suzuki designed and built it...the dealer just wants to move it out the door. Not a tough choice on who to listen to.

P.S. - At least they appeared to pay attention to the AMOUNT of oil they put in mine.
How many times have you seen this Q :joke:

Wow, since '06? You are a maniac, you better slow down or you'll wear that thing out!

I don't go on any road trips, so I'm not known for putting huge amounts of mileage on my bike, but since August of last year, 3045 miles.
'07 :
7,500 in the first six-months I owned her.....
2,200 in two months of ridin' weather this season, so 9,700 in 8 months
but I do split time with my Sportster.
Bought it july 07 and have about 8000mi, managed to put 2400mi on it this season so far.
Purchased my second 9 in November 2008. Currently has a little more then 7k on her already and the true riding season has yet to start. I am hoping for 18k by the end of the year.
