A while back a guy posted a piece here on securing the intake screens on the Holley air intakes. The metal clips are flimsy and I worry they will pop off. If I remember correctly he did a sharp job of it but I cannot find the thread. Anybody remember?

Type in Edelbrock mod and look at what Latinrascal did to his. Looks like he used some cool thru bolts to hold on the screen.

Edelbrock clips break, so

I had the Edelbrock filters long ago, and one of the clips broke. So I drilled a 1/4 inch hole through the center for a bolt. I wanted to use a chrome bolt, but they didn't have long ones. So I used a 1 inch long bolt, and a threaded spacer, 3 1/4 inch long I think a threaded hole at each end, and a bolt from the back, blue locktite, and it held just fine. It was a little tricky to assemble if I remember. Here's the only photo I have.

I went about it a little different. The way I mounted the Edlebrocks lent itself to a way to lock them down. I cut down a stock filter cover to a narrow ring and mounted it to the back of the edlebrock. I cut little notches and sandwiched the clips, with silicone to sealit, so that they were traped between the ring and the backing plate.
