I know that the service manuals have started to hit, but I am still waiting on mine. I have changed the engine and rear oil and checked the brakes. Are there instructions in the service manual on the rest? Thanks a lot for your help :bow:

It's been awhile since I read my manual but I am almost certain that the only areas that needed replacement were engine oil and diff. oil. The rest, i.e air filter, cables, brakes, and things of this nature were only inspected. I don't think you were even supposed to change the oil filter on the first change.

Ok , here it is:
Tighten - exhaust pipes and bolts and muffler bolts, chassis bolts and nuts. Which ones and to what torque spec?
Inspect states as follows: inspect and clean, adjust, replace or lubricate as necessary - Exhaust controll valve, Throttle cable play, Clutch cable play and steering. What are the specs/tolerances of these items and the procedure to inspect, clean, adjust, replace or lubricate as needed. :dontknow:

Folks:

The 600 mile service is nothing more than a $160.00 oil change performed by your STEALER. One of the first mods I did was to install the chrome plastic caps on all exposed bolts. That was done before I took the bike for the first service. Not one of those caps was removed by the dealer during service.

Other than warranty work, a STEALER will perform no other work on my machine. When I receive the Factory Service Manual I'll go over the entire bike and torque all fasteners to the required specs.

Mine was due this week but it didn't come in!! Hopefully next week. If anythigh was really loose it probably would have already fallen off ( 1600 miles ) as of today.
