Coming into winter here in Aus and we all know it sucks to have ice cold hands. So it's time for heated grips. I don't want the cold to stop me riding.

But I'm wondering, are the standard bars 7/8th or an odd ball size?

I'm doubtful they'd be anything other 7/8th.

What brands have people fitted?

Thanks for the input.

The bars are a standard 1", as in 1" grips fit.

If you go with the insert type heaters that go inside the bars, there are weights in them that need to be removed. It's just a steel slug and is welded in from the bottom of the bar. When you pull the grips off you can see the welded spot on the bottom which needs drilled out so the weights can come out.

I don't have any so no recommendations, but I'd like to have either heated grips or gloves next winter.

Thanks for the info again Zoom, informative as always

I'll have a look around for grips tomorrow.

Ey3less - Winter in Sydney is cool, but not really cold. Nothing like the north of the US or UK. I'm thinking of a run to Melbourne soonish and would like to feel my hands on the highway. I'll have to ride around the Snowy. Yes there's some snow down under :joke:

Go heated gloves... It's the front of your fingers and your thumb that will suffer from cold (exposed to the wind) and heated grips won't help.
