I have not heard of anyone lowering there forks. There have been some people that have changed the rake angle of them with a new set of trees.

The question is how much do you want to add?

You can gain an inch or so by changing the internal spacers.

Past there, you would need to replace the inner tubes.

I am not sure how much work you are looking for, but I am guessing since you are asking the question, that you have not taken this on before.

I have lengthened forks to keep a smaller wheel up front with the proper trail on a neck rake change and I can tell you that it is almost worth just buying longer forks unless you are an azzhole like me and just need to do it once for yourself.
