I changed the final drive oil today. This is the first time I have done it and the bike had 1600 miles on it. The oil did'nt look bad. It seem to be a green, silver color and I could not feel any shavings with my fingers I will check it again in about 300 miles.

If you looked at your new oil, you should have seen that it's not silver going in. ::)

The silver you see are the shavings. They are too small to feel with your fingers.

I did mine at 603 miles...and it needed it.

Also clean the plug...has loads of shavings on it..it's magnitized.
